7) On the Drivers page, you can automatically get drivers from the NVIDIA website, download drivers from your computer, or choose Update drivers. You can also check the most current drivers for your computer.
8) When the download is complete, there might be a notification in the bottom right corner of your desktop that says: Downloaded from the NVIDIA website. Click Refreshto update the NVIDIA drivers on your computer.
I’m sorry to hear that didn’t work for you–I did manage to find a backup copy (thanks, Adam!), but it seems to be a newer version of the camera (my old copy never worked with this driver, regardless of whether it had gotten new software or not).
It’s not listed in dmesg. One thing that still shows up is under lspci (another piece of software that is part of the driver)–it’s shown as a SMBus compatible device. I have no idea what that is, but it might help you.
Download the zip file and unzip it. Go into Device Manager, scroll down to Unknown device (the name should be different for you), and select ‘Update driver’. Check ‘Browse my computer for driver software’, and then click on ‘Next’ at the bottom.
Once it’s finished, select ‘update driver’, and then check the box for’show excluded drivers’. Scroll down to Creative Labs and click ‘OK’. At this point, Windows will ask you to reboot. Do so, and then open Device Manager again, and look for the camera that you saw in the dmesg log. It should be there, and should look like it’s working.
Last time I used the Vimicro driver was, I believe, around 2007-2008, but I have a friend who can confirm that. It worked with his camera, but we weren’t doing any serious editing or authoring with the videos and we never got to do any video streaming with it. The reason I remember it was because the camera did have an out of memory error (no longer a problem in the new driver) and there was no USB2.0 on the adapter (to be fair, Windows Vista didn’t support USB2.0 back then), so I had to use another camera.
One problem that you may experience after installing Windows 10 (1909) is if your device isn’t working when you first booted your system. After a fresh Windows 10 installation, the USB port can be disabled through the BIOS. The USB 3.0 port may not work and therefore, the device may not be recognized.
Unlike previous versions, the Windows Update function is now powered by Windows 10. As a result, you may encounter some problems during the driver installation process as it may not be possible to update your drivers using Windows Update.
If this is the case, you can download and install the drivers manually. The manual installation process is easy to follow and you don’t have to worry about removing the previously installed drivers as they will be overwritten. Simply unzip the file you downloaded to a folder and double-click the package. Allow the installation to complete.
Double-click on theCreative VIMICRO Ultra-160 Windows Vista (or Creative VIMICRO Ultra-160 Windows Vista ) file you just installed. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
If the sound card was installed successfully, the card driver will be automatically enabled. To test your sound card, run your favorite media player or music program and click the Play button to play your first song.
Finally found this page. And finally got the drivers installed. As you can see, all was going well. All worked on reboot. But, as I said, this is a little confusing.I’ve started to go back and re-read the instructions and, as you can see from the above, it’s looking like I need to re-run the “bypass chrome” command and I don’t know what to do.
